Great Wall

One quick picture before we go to bed. I hope this works. It is almost 11pm here and we have to be up at 4:30am to get to the airport. Pray for safe travels!

We made it!

Well, after the longest flight of both of our lives we finally made it to Beijing! We were so exhausted yesterday we just stayed in the hotel and tried to get to bed early. Although our sleeping clocks are all messed up. We are spending all day touring so we will try to post some pictures tonight. We are heading to breakfast this morning and hopefully we will find some coffee somewhere! We are so excited to be here and we can't wait to meet Longji on Monday. The clock is ticking...

This is it...

Ok, we are packed and ready to go. I guess this is my last post before departure. Please continue to keep all of us in your prayers. Comment if you like on the blog. I would love to share your comments with Adam when we return. We will post if we can from Beijing and then when we arrive in Guangzhou.

Jeff - you rock!

And the official packing begins...

Today Mom and I spent some time together running around San Antonio picking up some last minute things. Oh, and we treated ourselves to a fantastic pedicure to relieve a little of our stress. Why is my mom stressing you ask? She is not going to know what to do when I am not calling her on my way home from work every day and e-mailing in between. We will not have our Monday night dinners for a few weeks and she won't be running into me at the office on the weekends when I go in for transcribing. Today was necessary for both of us. So now that I have pretty toes I can enjoy wearing my flip flops while I bust my behind packing and cleaning and packing and cleaning some more. Ginger recovered well from her surgery yesterday and it was nice to see her running around like normal today. Tomorrow we are getting haircuts and cleaning the cars. We also need to get crickets for Buddy (our leopard gecko) and Sammie needs bok choy. He is our sulkata tortoise. Other than these little tasks we are pretty much done. Well, outside of the packing and cleaning and packing and cleaning some more. Jordyn was in charge of the sign tonight. Isn't she a doll?

Blessings

So tonight I am so overwhelmed emotionally that I don't even know where to begin...

John and I have been on this journey for what feels like forever and it is one that we both wholeheartedly believe is God's plan for us. We have held each other up throughout this adoption process and we continue to praise God daily for bringing us this far and for building up our relationship. And just when I personally think there is no way we could be any more blessed, we are showered with more of God's love in ways I could never imagine. In these last two days as we have slowly approached our departure, we have been blessed by our new friends, Jay, Kim, Campbell and Cael. The Lord has brought our two families together in such a way that only He could have orchestrated our connection. Today, family and friends came together to celebrate our anticipated trip and every time we share our story with someone I am reminded of what a blessing Longji is to John and I. Again, the emotions are so overwhelming it is hard to put anything down into words. God is so good and our prayer is that we live a life that is pleasing to Him and I can't wait for Longji to experience this life with us and know his true Creator.

Another day down on the countdown and John was the honorary sign holder of the evening...
