We have LID!

Got an e-mail today that our official log in date is August 11, 2011. This is fantastic news! I am sticking with my travel estimate of December. I hope I am wrong and we travel sooner.

No LID yet, but we have an update!

We are still waiting for our official log in date (LID) from China. We really think at this point it has already been logged in, but we just haven't been notified yet. According to my calculations, we should be in China right around December. This seems so far away, but I know it will be here before we know it, especially with school starting next week.

We did receive an update on Brielle and she is going to fit right in with Longji. She is described as gentle, considerate and a little active. Sound familiar? Her height is 42.1 inches and weight is 44.1 lbs. She likes to play with dolls and she loves beautiful hairpins! She likes to be beautiful. She enjoys playing hide and seek and playing with girls her own age and she likes to sing and dance. She will try most foods, but doesn't like eggplant. Her favorite food is mango. She also likes to play outside. We were told she does not know about us or that she is going to be adopted, but she will hopefully know as soon as we can send her a care package which is after we receive our letter of acceptance (LOA). This is our next big step after LID. We did not receive any updated pictures which was a little disappointing.

Meanwhile, we received Longji's passport. We expected to have a delay with this, but it came pretty quick. School starts Monday and I will have to post pictures of Longji on his first day. We met his teacher on Thursday and she was very pleased with his language skills just as his first grade teacher was.

Please pray for a good first day of second grade for Longji and a log in date this week!

We are DTC!

Our dossier was officially sent to China August 1st! Now we are awaiting our LID (log in date). It looks like travel will be during the winter time at the earliest, possibly early next spring. John and I submitted for an update on our Brielle, but we are still waiting for this also. Until we receive our LOA (letter of acceptance) we still cannot show her picture, but I promise it will be posted as soon as the Fed Ex man steps off of our doorstep. Longji's passport is in the works and this has been a trying process in itself. School is right around the corner so hopefully time will fly by and before you know it we will be on a plane to China!

Brielle Update and Summer Photos

Well, we were fingerprinted Friday, July 15th and received our approval letter the following Thursday. We are trying to medically expedite Brielle's adoption based on her needs and it appears that things will begin speeding up here in the next few months. We made a trip to Austin on Friday to get our paperwork certified and then shipped our documents to a courier who will take the papers to the Chinese Consulate in Houston for authentication. We should be DTC (date to China) here pretty soon. John and I are totally pumped about the speed up, but we remain grounded in the fact that everything will happen in God's time.

Meanwhile, we have a few pictures to share from our mini-vacation at Rockport Beach as well as some pictures from our Austin trip where we visited with some of our adoption agency contacts. It was a fantastic visit and long overdue. We have been working with this agency for about five years now and we finally got to meet the wonderful people who have helped complete our family.

Happy Birthday Brielle!!

Brielle Update:
Happy Birthday Brielle Laymon! Today our sweet Brielle is turning 7! We were so bummed out about not sending a care package to her. We were able to send Adam a cake and presents, but we are not far along enough in her adoption to be able to do this. We still had a mini celebration here at home. We will do like we did with Adam's gifts and hold onto them until she is home. Tomorrow we have our fingerprint appointment and hopefully things will begin to move along more quickly after that. It definitely seems like things are moving along much slower this time around; however, we are more familiar with the process so we are a little more at peace with everything.

Adam Update:
Adam has had a fantastic summer. I actually taught some summer school so John was in charge of the little man during the day. He had four weeks of tennis and swimming lessons and he did awesome. He is so much better in the pool this year than last. We also have Fiesta Texas passes and Sea World passes so we have been visiting the parks here and there. We have slowed down a bit the last few weeks because of a family emergency, but we are slowly getting back into a routine. We will have to make a beach trip before the month is over or else we will all face the wrath of Adam. I am going to post some random pictures below of our summer, Father's Day (which was a blessing) and some pictures from Brielle's birthday bash. I will try to post some more next week.
